Power of Attorney

Power of Attorney (POA)

A Power of Attorney (POA) for healthcare, also known as a Medical Power of Attorney or Healthcare Proxy, is a legal document that allows a trusted individual (agent) to make healthcare decisions on behalf of another person (the principal) if they become incapacitated and unable to do so themselves.

How POA Works on Carelancer

When creating a profile on Carelancer, a Health Care POA enables the Primary Account Holder to:

  • Coordinate schedules and caregiving support for the POA "client" (care seeker).
  • Access medical records as allowed by the POA agreement.

Legal Requirements:
The requirements for a Health Care POA vary by state or province and must comply with local laws.

Alternative Options

If you do not have a Medical POA, you will need to choose an alternative method to set up a new profile, such as obtaining direct consent from the care seeker through the platform.
