Guidelines for Handling Unsafe Conditions and Emergencies

At Carelancer, your safety is our top priority. If you encounter an unsafe situation or emergency, follow these guidelines to protect yourself and ensure proper reporting.


1. Immediate Safety Protocol

If you feel unsafe:

  • Dial 911 Immediately – Contact local emergency services without delay if your personal safety is at risk.
  • Leave the Environment – Exit the unsafe situation immediately, prioritizing your safety.
  • Report to Carelancer Support – After ensuring your safety, provide a detailed report to Carelancer Support.

2. Medical Emergencies

Examples: Severe allergic reactions, chest pain, injury, or other medical crises affecting the careseeker.

Steps:

  • Dial 911 Immediately – Ensure the careseeker receives professional medical attention.
  • Ensure Safety – Assist within your ability while prioritizing your own well-being.
  • Contact Carelancer Support – Report the incident once the emergency has been managed.

3. Discrimination

Examples: Discriminatory remarks, actions, or refusal of service based on race, gender, religion, or other protected characteristics.

Steps:

  • Remove Yourself – Exit the environment immediately if the situation becomes hostile.
  • Dial 911 if Necessary – Contact emergency services if you feel unsafe or threatened.
  • Report to Carelancer Support:
    • Provide details such as the time, location, and description of the discriminatory behavior.
    • Attach any supporting evidence (e.g., notes or screenshots).

Outcome: Carelancer will investigate and take appropriate action, which may include suspension or termination of the careseeker's account.


4. Harassment or Threatening Behavior

Examples: Verbal abuse, inappropriate comments, intimidation, or aggressive behavior.

Steps:

  • Dial 911 – If you feel threatened, contact local authorities immediately.
  • Leave the Location – Exit the environment as soon as possible without escalating the situation.
  • Report to Carelancer Support:
    • Provide details such as the date, time, and description of the behavior.

5. Unsafe Environments

Examples: Hazardous conditions, aggressive pets, unsanitary living spaces, or other risks that may compromise your safety.

Steps:

  • Remove Yourself – Exit the environment if it poses a risk to your safety.
  • Contact Local Authorities if Necessary – Dial 911 for situations involving immediate danger or illegal activity.
  • Report to Carelancer Support:
    • Include a clear description of the environment and actions taken to ensure safety.

6. No-Show or Missed Appointments

Examples: Careseeker is absent, cancels upon your arrival, or fails to provide access.

Steps:

  • Document the Situation – Record the time of arrival and any communication attempts.
  • Contact Carelancer Support:
    • Provide details such as the appointment time, location, and any communication attempts (e.g., texts or calls).

Outcome: Carelancer will review the report and take action according to platform policies on cancellations and no-shows.
